Rentals Terms

Although we make every effort to simplify our terms, if you need any clarification, please contact our helpful Customer Service Team.

The following Rental Terms apply ONLY to Bookings made through our website (121rentals.com). For bookings made with 121Rentals UK through other websites, please refer to their advertised terms and conditions or your rental voucher.

Booking Procedure

Our booking reservation system displays real-time availability, and your reservation will be instantly confirmed. We offer a straightforward yet comprehensive booking process for your convenience.

Choose your pick-up and drop-off locations (if different), rental dates/times, and you will see available car groups that you can book immediately. You can filter the results by selecting the type of cover (standard CDW or insurance excess waiver), fuel type (petrol or diesel), and transmission type (manual or automatic).

Next to each car group, you will find an (i) icon with information about that specific vehicle. Prices are displayed as a daily rate, along with the reservation total, making it easy for you to compare rates.

Select your desired car group by clicking “book now.” You will receive all the booking information, including the chosen car group, pick-up/drop-off locations, date, time, and the total amount of your reservation. You can then provide your details, such as name, email, telephone, and flight number.

After completing your reservation, you can also add extra items, such as additional drivers, GPS navigation, and baby seats. You will receive a confirmation email/voucher containing all relevant pick-up information and details.

Payment Methods

To collect your car, we require a pre-authorization deposit on a credit card in the main driver’s name. Alternatively, you can purchase an excess waiver package with a credit or debit card. Please note that payment by debit card reduces the excess to zero. For more information on our insurance terms, please see below under “insurance excess waiver & covers.”

Uk residents must have a valid credit card for security deposit debit cards are not allowed for holding deposit. And provide two proof of address (Within The Last Three Months) provide proof of employment. 121Rentals UK branches do not accept cash payments or prepaid cards. We accept all credit and debit cards, as well as Union Pay. Payment cards expiring within one month of the hire end date are not accepted.

Car Types

The vehicles displayed are our most common vehicles in their respective categories. We will provide you with either this model or a similar vehicle in terms of size and engine type.

We cannot guarantee that the make or model of the rental vehicle will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website. You can find a complete list of available rental vehicles on our “Our Fleet” page.

Cancellation Policy

Free cancellations apply to 121Rentals UK online bookings. If you wish to cancel your booking, please refer to our “Manage My Booking” page.

You can cancel your 121Rentals UK booking up to 30 minutes before the scheduled collection time. Failure to notify us of your cancellation prior to the scheduled collection time or failure to arrive to collect your reserved rental car may result in charges of up to 3 days of rental. Please note that if you do not meet the “Driver’s Requirements” section below, a free cancellation is no longer valid.

Driver’s Requirements

Driver’s Age: Min-Max Age of Drivers:

  • 25 – 75 Years Old.
  • All UK license holders must have held a full license for at least 3 years.
  • Drivers aged 24 and 25 years old and ALL International license holders must have held their full driving license for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Young drivers are subject to a Young Drivers surcharge of 30 GBP / 40 EUR per day. Young Drivers are permitted to rent cars that are mini to compact size (Category A, B and C) and vans up to, and including, a short wheelbase (SWB).

Driver’s License:

  • International hirers must upload or present a valid license from their country of residence, their passport (or ID card), and proof of return travel.
  • If the license is not written in English, then an international driver’s permit is also required.
  • Hirers from some international locations may require referral to our insurers. All hirers, other than those holding a UK or EU license, must have held a valid license for 3 years; otherwise, 121Rentals UK will need to refer your license to our insurers for authority to hire.
  • Hirers from any sanctioned countries require referral to our Insurers before the start of the hire.
  • We cannot accept North Korean driving licenses for insurance purposes, but South Korean licenses are acceptable.
  • UK and Republic of Ireland hirers must also bring two proofs of address dated within three months (we accept electronic copies of these proofs via a handheld device or emailed to (Info@121rentals.com) Additionally, you will need the DVLA check code or your counterpart of the license as applicable.

Points – endorsements:

  • Minor offenses such as speeding and traffic signals are acceptable up to a maximum of 6 points.
  • If you have any bans or convictions in the last 5 years, please call us before making a reservation.

Insurance Excess Waiver & Covers (Included in our prices)

Third-party liability protection (TP):

  • Third-Party liability covers the driver’s liability for damage to any third-party property. The hirer is still liable for the excess amount, as stated in the rental agreement. Insurance excess waiver can be purchased to reduce the excess amount.

Fire and theft waiver (FTW):

  • Theft Waiver limits the driver’s liability for costs incurred by fire or theft of the rental car – or damage incurred by the theft or attempted theft – liability starts at £1500 (depending on car category), subject to the terms of the rental agreement.

Collision damage waiver (CDW):

  • Collision Damage Waiver limits the driver’s liability (excess) to £1500 in the event that the rental car is damaged, subject to the rental agreement. Excess may vary on MPV/luxury cars. This protection applies to all authorized drivers of the rental car only.

The above packages are all optional and included in the retail rate due to advertising regulations. These covers can be removed at any time upon request. For more information on this, please call reservations at 0203 633 5605.

Security deposit: A security deposit equal to your liability (excess) is required to be held on the main driver’s credit card.

On Collection Day Pre-Authorization Requirement

When a booking is completed online, On Collection day you will need to complete a pre-authorization form with your card details if you do not agree 121 rentals have full right to cancel the reservation.

Administration Fees for Traffic Violations and Charges

  • Parking tickets and speeding fines, toll charges and any other charges occurring while the vehicle is in your possession as per 121 rental terms and conditions there is a £55 administration fee per (PCN)

Local hirer: A local hirer is a UK resident.

  • Local hirers must be 25 or over and provide proof of employment. or  Debit cards are acceptable with our Relax Zero package. However you must have a valid credit card for a security deposit of £500 as per our insurance company policy.
